New York City’s contemporary design store Matter presents an exhibit of lighting designer Bec Brittain’s latest works. The show launches the designer's new work Twin Vise as well as several of her recent works including the floor lamp Helix and a new version of her single Vise.
The Red Hook, Brooklyn-based designer founded her studio in 2011 and counts some of the top interior designers and architects in the country as her clients. She describes her work as “striving to shape complexity into a new clarity.” With her new collection, Brittain focuses on new geometries, new forms and new techniques. Stripping down forms to their bare bones, she uses transparency and reflection to construct unique fixtures that will carve out her own niche in the world of contemporary lighting.
